2021 Distinguished Scholarship and Service Award
The American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) community is proud to recognize and honor Kathi Bailey, MIIS as the Distinguished Scholarship and Service Award (DSSA) winner.
Dr. Bailey is recognized for her outstanding leadership and stellar service in applied linguistics in her past/current roles as President of AAAL, TESOL, and TIRF, and her prolific scholarship, which includes many books, articles, and chapters. Kathi will present a special lecture in conjunction with this award at the AAAL 2021 Virtual Conference on March 21, 2021.
Dr. Kathleen Bailey is a professor of Applied Linguistics at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). She is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of TIRF – The International Research Foundation for English Language Education, as well as President of the Foundation – offices she has held since September 2009. In addition, she has served as the President of both the international TESOL association and the American Association for Applied Linguistics. Previously she served on the TOEFL Research Committee.
The Distinguished Scholarship and Service Award recognizes and honors a distinguished scholar for her/his scholarship and service to the profession in general and to AAAL in particular.
