GRADNASFLA Symposium
Event Details
The Graduate Student North America Systemic Functional Linguistics Association
(GRADNASFLA) is calling for proposals for the forthcoming symposium held at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, September 30 to October 2, 2022. The GRADNASFLA is a student-led organization acting with the support of the North American Systemic Functional Linguistics Association. Each year, there will be a symposium that provides a platform for the sharing and celebration of graduate student scholarship in Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL). The forthcoming symposium will follow a hybrid format. We welcome potential presenters from nationally and internationally.
The theme of the 2022 symposium is “Renewing and reimagining SFL practices”. We seek proposals for paper presentations, posters, roundtable discussions, and the lesson swap block. This year, we add a new block entitled “Lesson Swap - Theories to Classroom Practice”. We hope this block creates an opportunity for practitioners (e.g., in-service and pre-service teachers, student teachers) to share and reimagine how SFL can be applied to classroom teaching and learning.
Please note the deadline to submit a proposal is Sunday, July 17, 11:59 PM PST.
