AAAL Webinar: Language, Gender, and Sexuality in Applied Linguistics
Event Details
Join us for a webinar to explore the new AAAL conference strand “Language, Gender, and Sexuality" (LGS). This one-hour webinar will include presentations from scholars who are shaping this field and a Q&A component. The LGS strand “aims to foreground the applied nature of feminist, queer, trans and nonbinary linguistic scholarship with a view to enlivening the broader field of applied linguistics.” The webinar will highlight current LGS research in contexts such as language in education, healthcare, translation, online communication and media. In addition, speakers will identify key future directions for research in this area and provide audience members with additional resources to learn more and/or get involved with issues related to LGS in applied linguistics.
