Language Learning Celebrates 30 years of AAAL
Sunday, April 22, 2007
This panel aims to celebrate the 30 years of AAAL by presenting a critical review of central issues in applied linguistics and present cutting-edge research in five areas of applied linguistics. Each senior researcher has been selected to present fundamental issues in applied linguistics with regard to theoretical and methodological considerations over the past 30 years, present their insights of where we stand in the field, highlight caveats, and propose an agenda for future research. The quality, expertise, and proven track-record of these panelists will stimulate discussion in different disciplines, create a forum for the exchange of ideas, revisit central issues in applied linguistic research, and offer the opportunity for both new and established researchers in various disciplines of applied linguistics to ask questions and to benefit from the years of experience these panelists offer.
